About the event

Our Forest School day camps are all about getting children out in nature; playing, exploring, being hands on, doing risky play and having fun!

Some of the activities over the summer may include:

Making bow and arrows

Using tools to make boats, necklaces, medals, mallet, swords, animals... the list goes on!

Den building and knot tying

Fire building and fire safety

Tree climbing and slacklining

Playing in the mud kitchen and other mud fun!

Campfire cooking (, damper bread, marshmallow smores, pancakes, drop scones!)

Nature crafts (weaving, jewellery making, flower/leaf crafts. clay, hobby horses and other projects)

Outdoor yoga

Natural clay making

Wildlife spotting and much more!

The children can choose what activities they want to do and are encouraged to come up with games and activities using their own imagination and interests.

The above day camps (9.30-4pm) are for children aged 5 to 9 years old and cost £35. We have a few morning or afternoon spaces for 3-5 year olds 9:30-1:30pm   or 12-4pm   which cost £ 25.

Kit List

The sessions are 100% outdoors, rain or shine! We have tarpaulins we put up and have some natural shelter however the children must be dressed appropriately so are ready for all weathers! There is no such thing as bad weather... just bad clothing!

The children must bring:

Waterproof trousers and jacket/suit

Wellingtons or waterproof shoes

Packed lunch with a water bottle (we provide snacks, a hot drink and something the children make on the fire, we do not provide lunch).

Complete change of clothes in a small backpack (long sleeved/legs to protect from bites, stings etc and two pairs of socks!)

It is always colder in the woods than the forecast temperature due to the natural shade from the trees so children must bring layers. This also helps protect them from stings, bites and grazes etc.

Booking

Book online and ensure you have filled out a registration form for your child. Once you have booked, you will be sent some additional information, including a full kit list, directions to the site and some information for your child.

We have sibling discounts (10%) on individual camp bookings, some multi booking discount tickets or individual camp tickets.

Individual camps cost £35 for 5 to 9 year olds.

£25 for 3 to 5 year olds.

Cancellations

In the event of very high winds or stormy weather, the session may need to be cancelled as it is not safe to carry out sessions in these conditions. You will be contacted as soon as possible to let you know and you will be refunded.

Unfortunately due to planning and staffing requirements once you have bought your ticket, is it non refundable/exchangeable. Thank you for your understanding.
